What TillOwl Shop keeps about you
This is a draft, version 2026-09-29-draft, until the shop's own policy is written.
Without an account. You can browse, search and ask for a product without an account. When you ask for a product, the shop keeps your name, mobile number and note, so it can call you back. It deletes the request 90 days after answering it.
With an account. The shop keeps your name, mobile number, email address and the addresses you save (up to five). It keeps your wishlist and your orders. Your name, number, email and addresses are locked with a key that only this shop's systems hold. Your password is never kept: only a one-way fingerprint of it, which cannot be turned back into the password.
What the shop uses it for. To know you when you sign in. To email you the links you ask for, such as the link to start your account or to set a new password. To call you or deliver to you about what you ordered or asked for. The shop does not sell your details, and does not use them for adverts.
Who else sees it. Emails are sent through an email delivery company, which sees your email address and the letter. Nobody else gets your details, unless the law requires it.
Cookies. The website uses a few small cookies, and none of them track you for adverts:
- one that keeps you signed in, for up to 30 days;
- ones that keep your cart, wishlist and compare list in this browser, for up to 30 days;
- one that protects the forms you send, for up to 1 hour.
Your choices. In your account you can see and change your details, and erase your account. Erasing removes your name, number, email and addresses for good, and blanks the copy of your details that your orders keep. You can also call the shop and ask it to erase your details.
What the shop must keep. The shop keeps the records of sales and payments the law asks it to keep. A sale or delivery paper that has been posted keeps the name and address it printed, because the law asks the shop to keep it as it was; erasing your account never changes a posted paper.
